Laurent Gardin - Brief Bio
Laurent Gardin obtained his PhD in sociology from the Conservatoire national des Arts et Métiers (Cnam) in Paris in 2004. He also obtained a post-graduate degree in Management of social development in 1990, in Paris IX Dauphine.
He has also been a lecturer at the Université de Valenciennes et du Hainaut Cambrésis since 2005. Within this same university, he is also a member of Réseau 21; he is the co-director, within the Laboratoire interdisciplinaire de sociologie économique (Lise - Unité mixte de recherche, Cnam-CNRS), of the research department on Economic sociology and democracy. He joined the Laboratoire interdisciplinaire de sociologie des institutions and the research team of the CRIDA in 1991.
Beside the EMES Network, he took part in several European research networks in the framework of works on local initiatives of development and employment and on social enterprises, in cooperation with other research centres and groupments of European actors (CECOP, ENSIE…).
